Ok, so I read this a few hours ago, and being of the vintage that should know that song, I had to go listen to it. Fine, I recognized it.

Unfortunately, Mr. Sakamoto was killed in 1985 in the Japanese air flight 123 which was the second deadliest air disaster in history. That's really something to have a Japanese hit in the U.S. The Japanese title of the song is, "I Will Walk Looking Up". His enthusiasm was contagious.
