eBay idiocy

Back in the day, I sold several firearms on ebay then they stopped those and thats when Auction Arms and Gunbroker came into being. I have recently bought M1 Carbine mags on ebay that were listed as " holding 10 rounds " that I could fit twice as many in! So, it just matters how you word things!

I bought a new if factory packaging 30rd magazine for a mini-14. It showed up with a low buy it now so I did, and received it quickly. When I went to leave feedback for the seller it wouldn't allow it and when I contacted him he said he got spanked for it. No mention of capacity in the ad.

Ebay cancelled one of my auctions for a manual knife. They said it was an "automatic switchblade". It's not..It's not even a flipper. But..it's a Lone Wolf Defender so very scary! Someone must have reported it.
Good luck trying to appeal any of their decisions as for the last 24 years they have never reconsidered any of their decisions, even when I support my claims. It's their site..accept it or go somewhere else seems to be their policy. It's a HUGE audience so tough to ignore either buying or selling.
Just had a Kel Tec 10rd magazine removed about 2 weeks ago. They said it was a firearm.
I disputed it and won the appeal about a week later. They said they resisted it, but they did not.
I put it back on auction and it will end in a little less than 5 hours.
First dispute I have won since 1999.

:ROFLMAO:I try not to speak with businesses who hire "third world" English speakers, but it seems unavoidable. I'm sure the people are knowledgeable about whatever their function is, but ask a question, and sometimes you can tell they are reading or have memorized a a "response" that may or may not relate to the question. I've heard that it is mandatory (maybe like the "Pirate's Code...more like a guideline?) they provide you with a "native English speaker" if necessary, but I've had several experiences with businesses (mostly medical or Comcast:alien:), even despite my hearing aids and using speaker phone, where the person got very upset if I ask for someone I can understand... Oh BOY! "Customer Service" at its lowest common denominator. But, I guess we're supposed to be thankful they let us spend our money at their business. Is my negative attitude showing?
Two problems with offshore people, one is their often heavy accent but more often it is just very poor electronic clarity as it all sounds garbled. They already know this as they will tell me to hold on while they many times make equipment adjustments, sometimes it helps but most of the time it does not.

I’d rather sell hi caps on a forum so I know if it’s legal to send to their state. I don’t need some guy in Cali diming me off if he isn’t allowed to have them and does something stupid with them.

I wasted spent over an hour looking on Ebay last night. I didn't see any indication that parts weren't available anywhere. I did see one guy with what was clearly a standard capacity 59xx magazine with his thumb incompletely over the one of the witness holes. I also saw a set of three black 59xx 14 round magazines for sale, with the capacity clearly listed in the description. If someone didn't grab those right away, the listing has probably been deleted by now.

There is still a pretty good quantity of parts available there.

I have done very well on EBay, bought several complete slides, an extra barrel for my M639/659-bought a slide for a 5906, now I have to find a receiver that takes it. Other gun parts, some 10 round magazines for my Browning HP, S&W M659/Marlin Camp Carbine.

I had this happen to me. It turned out that I had my VPN on and Ebay had no way of knowing where I was accessing it from. I disengaged my VPN and it allowed me to buy it, since it saw that I lived in TX.

seems they've adopted another foolish change, i.e. if a potential buyer makes an "offer" on an item, their new practice is to just automatically send the order if the offer is accepted without confirming with the buyer that the offer was accepted, duhhh...

I've made several purchases using the "make an offer" function. During the process of making the offer, a message does appear and it specifically states that if the seller accepts your offer, the purchase is automatically completed. I think this is to stop people from making offers, having the offer accepted, then backing out of the transaction.

ya, I understand that; but, a simple "offer accepted and being shipped" wouldn't be difficult... jmo

uhmm, actually this is what just came up - - -

Offer sent!

We’ll notify you if the seller accepts, declines, or counters in the next 24 hours (before your offer expires).

Read what the whole "make an offer" thing where you enter your offer. When I have done it, it says if my offer is accepted, my payment method will automatically be charged and that message is part of the final step where I send the offer.
