Ed Brown Oversized Thumb Latch

I got an Ed Brown thumb latch and wanted to show it off. I've seen the Hogue pieces but this guy called to me (on epay) and I don't think Mr Brown makes these anymore.

I like the looks and function of the Ed Brown one better than any of the others I have seen. For me, though, the original works just fine! Too bad Brown quit making them for I might just try one! Good catch.

SDM made a super sweet thumbpiece that I grabbed for a bunch of my guns. I would try one of these Ed Brown units if I could find one for sure. I have a couple of Ed Brown 1911s and they are fabulous.

I have a few of Ed Browns and SDMs - I prefer the SDM so the Ed Browns have been relegated to the parts bin.

That TK part looks just like the Ed Brown piece. I wonder if Mr Brown sold them the patent.

In my pictures I show it on my 686-6 but I think it will serve better on my 66-1. I put the 686 in my pocket and the thumb latch was poking my thigh pretty bad. I won't have that problem on my range-only 66-1.
