I bought one recently. A few folks I know have them and say their terrific which convinced me to get one. Wondering about others experience with them? Good, bad or?

Cheers;

Their wattage rating is the same as any electric space heater. This rating is the maximum amount of electricity that the heater will use when operating at its highest heat output setting. No matter what the type of heater, radiant, oil-filled, or fan forced, 1500 watts is 1500 watts. The claims of reduced electric bills will not be realized if the heater is used all day every day at its highest setting. It will heat a small area (one room) just like any other electric heater, but don't expect your heating bills to be less than without it. You can reduce your bill by wearing heavier clothes while in the house and leaving your thermostat at its normal setting.

I can get the same amount of heat(1500 watts) from my $29.99 Walmart electric heater. How much did you pay for yours?

We have one, it works ok, nothing
exciting. Had to send it back twice 'cause it quit........next time it goes in the dumpster!

Howdy

Howdy,
They may all be rated at 1500 watt but the amount of heat that they produce varies from model to model.
We used to have a large parabolic heater and it felt better than most. we have tried newer ones and did not care for them.
Voranado's top of the line heater is a pretty good one. It is a little more than most other heaters but carries a five year warranty.
Edenpure is not one I see around here but more than half the folk's at Amazon that bought one did not like it. That would scare me.
Good luck in your search and I'll keep an eye on this thread. I'm always looking for a great room heater.

I fell for the infomercial. Can buy a heater at homeless depot for one third the cost, just as good. But it was an allfully good infomercial!

we inherited one last xmas,,mother in law fell for the infomercial,,was no better than the $60 electric heaters at lowes,,,no longer have it,,,regifted to my brother in law,,lol

Years ago the furnace went out in an apartment I was living in, in the middle of January with it 22 degrees outside. Went out to a hardware store and bought a bunch of 150 watt light bulbs and put them in all the lamps. Not only had lots of light but the heat produced by those light bulbs kept the apartment at 65 degrees for the 3 days it took to get the furnace fixed. A lot of people don't realise it but 95% of what those old incandescent lights produced was heat. To be blunt, they are probably more efficient than an electric furnace and more efficient than most gas furnaces, it's just too bad that electicity costs so much more per BTU than gas.
