Are there any edged weapons that are restricted, and must be registered similar to a Class III gun? Like maybe a WWII Luftwaffe gravity knife?

Knife laws are a mess! Federal law prohibits interstate commerce and shipping of certain knives but there are lots of exceptions to the federal laws. The big thing to get to understand are your state and local laws which vary widely and change fairly often. The states with the goofiest gun laws tend to go nuts in the area of knives also. In addition, most LEOs will not understand the law in their juristiction so there's no telling what they'll do.
Get a good folder in the 3 1/2 inch range, put it in your pocket unless you need to use it and shut up will work in most places.
