Pocket Knife Restrictions

My usual day carry now is a 3 blade Case "sowbelly". All blades are shaving sharp. Over the years I've cleaned oodles of deer with a pocket knife.....You don't need a 8 in sword to do it....SC really has no knife restrictions....Sometimes I carry my Buck 112 automatic......For daily use I won't carry a single blade knife.....Cuz a multi blade has more than ONE sharp blade.....My favorite brands are Queen/Case/Tree Brand Bokers and Puma.......Never go cheap on a knife.....The good ones always cost more and are worth it.

I used to work inside the protected area at a nuclear power plant occasionally . At the security desk where you checked in they had a short ruler screwed to the desk top . If you had a pocket knife you had to measure it against the ruler . If it was too long you could leave it at the desk and pick it up on your way out . I don't remember the length but in those days I carried a Case Medium Stockman and it was good to go .

I got my first one back in the 80's. With practice they are most fast. I received many cuts getting good.

One on the bottom is a Benchmade.

IIRC Benchmade was originally named BaliSong, ergo their butterfly logo. Those are really fine knives!

I did my career at a nuclear facility (31 years) as a rigger.......They furnished us knives....We usually carried our own.....Never saw an issue about a knife ever.

I said this in my previous post but I really think an auto opener is just one more moving part to break.

I can get any one of these open just as fast as I can get a switchblade open

I checked the link above and found out that Indiana has no restrictions on blade length, concealed or not as expected. I could get my Buck 105 5" Pathfinder open faster than any switchblade, auto opener or thumb stud liner locked clip on pocketknife and it would never fold up on my hand. :D

Pretty sure you wouldn't like the knife laws in NY, Wayne. Our last gov, the latest one forced to resign, passed a law allowing for assisted knives (not switchblades), but a judge said they could be considered "switchblades" and outlawed them. We are only allowed non-assisted flippers. NY City is even more restrictive.
I have a bunch of flippers and some assisted knives I got during the time frame when they were legal. I carry some form of blade every day and use them multiple times daily. It's not worth it to me to push the law because I'm sure NY state would pull my CC permit and look to make me a poster child for how they would treat lawlessness.

The only knife I carry with any regularity is this auto given me over four years ago by Kevin.

A faithful companion.

I have one of those, it's a good knife. I find it a little thick for pocket carry but I keep one clipped to my ballistic vest when I'm on uniformed duty.
