Help me out here......my new Model 16-4 4"

It is beautiful. A decedent of the of the famous K 32.

I was under the impression it is 32 long but I read in an old thread , "One of the great things about the 16-4 is that in addition to .32 H&R Magnums, it will also fire .32 S&W and .32 S&W Long ammo. It's not cheap either, but it's about half the cost of the magnums."

So what have I got?

The 16-4 was made for the 32 H&R mag but will handle very safely the others you mentioned.
The model was offered in the 6" as well as the 8 3/8's barrel with the 4 & 8" versions the less often seen.
They are neat guns and highly sought after - especially those well maintained.

There has been several posts where members have had their 16-4's reamed out to take 327 Federal in addition to the 32 H&R, 32 S&W Long, and 32 S&W. In addition some have fired 32 ACP, but accuracy isn't much and not recommended. The 32 H&R is a wonderful load and can handle a wide variation in loadings. One I have worked up puts a 100 gr. Hornady XTP out the 6" barrel at over 1200 fps with outstanding accuracy.

If you look at the right barrel, it should be stamped ".32 Magnum" referring to the H & R round. In order from longest to shortest (same diameter), the ones that will chamber are .327 Federal Magnum (with lengthened chambers), .32 H & R Mag., .32 S & W Long and finally .32 S & W (also called Short).

You have a dis-continued obsolete revolver in an obscure caliber that nobody really stocks anymore. It is not good for much of anything but taking up space in your gun safe.

Just because I hate to see people get taken advantage of I will take it off your hands for you..

$300 shipped sound ok?

:)

The Model 16-4 .32 H&R Magnum revolver was manufactured from 1989-92 in 4", 6", & 8-3/8" barrel lengths, with a total of about 8800 produced. It will also chamber .32 S&W and .32 S&W Long ammo the same way a .357 Magnum revolver will chamber .38 special ammo. The 4" version seems to be the most sought after, probably because it balances better with the full lug barrel than the longer versions.
