Ejector rod in the white. On M1917

The ejector rod is blue. I believe that the knob had a beveled section that was polished after factory blue to ran smoothly across the lug pin on closing. It is easy to remove the bevel section bluing on any re-blued gun if one knows what the originals looked like. Not always a good indicator of original finish. Early K frames had a screw-on knob that remained in a case hardened finish, so no blue on the entire knob.

When the gun was finally assembled when new, the extractor rod knob tip had the final fitting for length after the gun was blued. That removed the blue on the tip and the factory left it that way.

The exception was the 44 triple lock because the yoke latch was the middle lock in the frame, not in the barrel lug lock.
