On my 625, I can't seem to get the ejector rod tightened enough to take a "set" and stay tight. Would a dab of blue loctite on the threads be a reasonable fix? Is there something else that I should try? Thanks in advance!

Yes. That will keep it from unscrewing. While you're at it put a dab on the yoke screw also.

Are you tightening it with your fingers? With fired cases in the chambers, place the extractor rod in a PADDED vice and tighten snug (don't overtighten).Smith and Wesson recommends that you don't use any loctite on any of it's threads and I agree with them.

I have fired hundreds of thousands of rounds and never had one loosen on me.

I had a customer get happy with the Loctite solution one time doing his own work, then brought it to me to open the cylinder with a rubber mallet when he gummed up the whole works.

I know, I'm sure a lot of you have used the Loctite and it did great and yada, yada, yada. Just sayin' . . . if you don't know what you're doing you can screw the pooch.
