My heart goes out to the civilians in Gaza. BUT nothing happens in a vacuum. Hamas is in power because at some point people aquiessed to it being so. Interesting article about the differing politicte between Gaza and The West Bank here.

Nowhere is there any mention of the Israelies. I would think there i sa lot of HUMIT on the ground at work over thee that should start producing fruit. Until then, the people of Israel are doing exactly what we as Americans would do if we were attacked. We swarm them like fire ants and if there is collateral damage, then Oh well..pick up a gun and fight the enemy with us. I admire the stones of the Israelies.

No reasonable person wants civilian casualties. However when the enemy hides themselves, their headquarters and their weapons factories/caches among the civilian population, they are the ones endangering the civilian population.
Look what we (the good guys) had to do to Germany & Japan in WWII to finally force them to surrender. We finally had to pound the civilian population to the point that they could not and would not support or turn a blind eye to the twisted regimes any longer. Unfortunately the Palestinians in Gaza have actively or passively supported the Hamas fighters and they will now unfortunately bear the brunt of the injuries & deaths.
If a swarm of hornets attacks you, you burn down the entire nest, you don't just hunt down and swat the individual hornets. (I realize it's not a perfect analogy, but it is pretty close.)

We have our own lens through which we view things - we have food, shelter, rights, courts, military, police, an unbelievably strong economy, and all manner of things to allow us to have opinions and make choices. People in many, many other places in the world have no such luxury.

There is no rational comparison between Ukrainian resistance to Russia, Palestinian resistance to Hamas, Hezbollah, or Israelis; nor even for Iranians and their government. These are ALL radically different from us.

We are blessed, and should never assume everyone else in our world has ultimate freedom of choice. We try to help people, and usually mean well, but the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

I'll probably be banned for this but the only reason we talk about "civilian" causalities is because we've not experienced an actual war in our country for over 100 years. There has NEVER been a war without civilian causalities. I'm not excusing or encouraging civilian casualties, just stating a fact from history.

As far back as I can remember, I've always thought the Israelis let TOO much happen. I've often wondered what would happen if they followed a practice of 'exponential retribution'. Hamas takes out a bus with 40 folks.
Israel responds with TWO like-size buses in the Gaza. Hezbollah rockets a hospital. Israel bombs three in return. Terrorists take out a synogague? They should level five mosques..

You get the picture.

This has been going on for 2000 years and I don't think it will ever stop.

I was talking to a friend about it and we have all lived through middle east issues, however this one feels different.

It should be a wakeup call for anyone who does not have the tools to defend themselves. We are spoiled and naive.

When it does end, and I believe it will, that will be a sign of the end times. It is inevitable; it is prophesied.

What a great American had to say about America's future of criminality, perversion and lawlessness. We truly are at a crossroads with the 3rd world invasion and countless mass shootings and it's going to get much worse. I don't see the United States of America lasting another 20 years with constitutional protections in place.

I'm sure on the face of it, many would have a problem with this sentiment. But I personally believe Patton was making a prescient statement rather about our tolerance of and alliance with communism and not a literal opinion about fighting aligned with Fascists and Nazis. He saw what the Russian Bear was going to be and where it would go.
