Does anyone have any idea what a Roy Jinx factory letter might be worth on the purchase of an excellent condition 1949 K22? A guy I know is selling the gun and the letter that goes with it. Thanks!

It certainly helps with value documentation of the original features as shipped compared to how it looks now.

However, if it shipped to Frank's Hardware in Two Dot Montana versus a small shipment to Buffalo Bill Cody, that would matter as well.

IMO, the value of an Historian's letter is intangible. It could be worth a lot more than the $100 it costs if it validates a unique configuration or a shipment to someone important. For example, I wouldn't add any premium for a letter on a run-of-the-mill hand ejector but likely would for a gun that was given to a distinguished general.
