Electric Range Help Needed

I have a Frigidare electric range. It has a broil element and a bake element (top/bottom respectfully). I get very little heat from the top one and zero heat from the bottom one. I assume these elements wear out and need replacement, but are they connected in some way so that one bad one affects the other or do I need two new elements? Many thanks in advance!

The common item is the power to the switch/control. Accass the area behind the switches & look for a loose/burned wire. My best guess is you will find a very loose connection either on the back of the switch for the oven control or on one of the wires leading to the control from the junction box.

Make sure you can get the parts. I had to replace a 20 year old Hotpoint range when the bake element went out and no parts are available. What a pain.

I just replaced the element in mine a couple months ago. Turned on the oven and it looked like a lightning storm inside! Thank goodness I only had to replace the heating element. It wasn't cheap.

That is correct.

I'm still using a 1947 Norge that I got in 1974. The original oven element went out about 5 years ago. The replacement element price wasn't too bad at all, (about $40.00).

The broiler element has been out for years but I never would use it and I use the broiler drawer for storing pans.

The original flourescent bulb above the burners still has the manufacturing date of 1947 on it and it still works! They don't make 'em like they used to.

Make sure the "Broil" element is really out. My wife complained about the top element being out for a long time. I kept saying, "You don't use it. Don't worry about it." (Yeah, I know. Not a good idea.) Then one day I decided to check it. Turned the oven to broil, and on it came. She thought both should come on when she was baking.
