Had a water leak in garage at 5:00 am this morning. Water in garage and wetted carpet throughout downstairs rooms. Room where gun safe had some water on floor. Fortunately the water was not high and no damage to safe or contents. Was able to dry off underside that got moist-no moisture inside. ServPro just left after clean up.

Safe is now elevated on wood blocks. If your safe is resting flat on the floor and it is where water might reach it you might want to elevated it a bit.

I have installed 6 safes over the years. I always elevate them a bit.

Working in a construction trade and or a welding fab shop I alwas had material available. Got some large type channel iron (12 W''X2'' and cut to length)

Blew the holes neeedd so I could drill right though them so I could bolt the safe to the concreat floor. I found it easy to do it that way as I drilled through the safe botton and used a couple holes that were there from the factory. Normally used 5 3/4'' type drilled concreat anchors to anchor the safe in place+ a couple more through the back wall.

It must be the moon. My central AC drain line broke overnight, and I woke up to water everywhere as well.

Hope everything is getting back to normal. The internal fiberglass resin tank of a salt type water softener ruptured. It was a Sears brand about 15 years old. Never heard of that happening. ServPro was here within two hours after I called. They did a good job.
