Was just down at a grocery store which has a US Post Office.
As I passed it, realized that there was nobody there and I need stamps.
'Need some forever stamps, please.' 'Pick one from that selection.'
OMG! You got Elvis stamps!
I got to see Elvis twice.
First time was early on in the old Memphis ballpark
The stage was a trailer near 2nd base.
Girls climbed up on the stage and the security guys pushed them off.
I had never seen or even heard of anything like before!
It was this concert-
Elvis Presley : Russwood Park, Memphis, Tennessee : July 4, 1956
The second time was in Vegas during the white suit big show times.
When you are selected to be on an Forever Stamp, you will live forever!

I used to think the Elvis stamps were really great, but then I found out that the real thing frequents our local laundromat and mini-mart on a fairly regular basis. But then again, I heard he was spotted coming out of a Piggly Wiggly in Ashtabula, Ohio, just last week. So, who knows?

I guess it's one of those situations where nobody respects the local guy, no matter how famous he gets.

Elvis Lives! = yepper...we saw him the other day sitting at a subway beltin down a foot long.....

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned something about Elvis to my 14-YO granddaughter. She had never heard of him, no idea who he was. I'm not surprised.

I saw him in concert here in Denver in 76. I think he gave away 5 or 6 Cadillac's while here.
