End plate sling adaptors advice

Hi Guys, Any advice on the best "End Plate Sling Adaptor" for my M&P 15-22 ? please Cheers

Since you don't have an actual end plate you will need to do one of 2 things.

Drill the receiver out to install a QD mount like the MOE version. There is a post on the forum with pictures.

Install a QD sling mount that slides over the false buffer tube. Midwest Industries make one that is highly regarded. I just installed the Troy Professional Grade QD Mount on a Rock River Arms 9mm AR - not sure how it would work on the M&P 15-22.

I dont think i would risk drilling out the receiver! So that option is ruled out.

It's an after market one like the MI one that you suggest that slips over and bolts down on the tube that i am after.

So any other suggestions for that type of sling adaptor would be helpful !

MI makes several types of sling adaptors that clamp on to the receiver extension, and really the only one I can think of. Just go with the style that you want for your particular sling setup, such as QD, snap hook etc.

Daniel Defense makes one too. Nice quality and ambidextrous.

I have it installed on my M&P 15 so not sure how it would do on the 15-22, but just giving you options.

The Midwest Industries adapter is the only one that I know of that will fit the 15-22 without permanent modification to the 15-22. The Daniel Defense one (and Troy one) will definitely not work - been there and had to return it. There may be others out since I bought mine, but a year ago, the MI was the only possibility. It's the MCTAR 30, pictured here:

Doomsday Industries shows one on their website specifically for the 15-22. Don't know anything about the part or company, and haven't been on here for a while, so please forgive me if this is known or they are verboten.

I bought the one from DoomsDay, It had a nice finish and was light weight fit great. But the quick disconnect that attaches to the sling was impossible to remove, it was missing the hex screw to tighten it around the tube, the hole for the screw was not drilled and tapped correctly so even if it had the screw it would not have worked (hole was not drilled all the way through and the head of the screw was not recessed so the QD would not have seated correctly. This thing is going back along with the defective charging handle that I also bought. Nice products but very poor quality control.
