Can someone please explain cylinder end shake?
Is it the movement up & down or side to side or all the above?
What are the cures?

Thanks Chuck

END SHAKE IS FRONT TO REAR. OR IN OTHER WORDS FORCING CONE TO RECOIL SHIELD. AND THERE IS END SHAKE YOKE , AND END SHAKE CYLINDER.

END SHAKE YOKE IS CAUSED IN THE OLDER REVOLVERS BY THE FRONT SCREW FIT TO THE YOKE. ELIMINATED BY THE NEW STYLE SPRING LOADED FRONT FRAME SCREW.

END SHAKE CYLINDER IS THE WEARING OF THE INTERIOR YOKE BARREL AS IT CONTACTS THE CYLINDER AS THE CYLINDER REVOLVES.

PPC told you the most of it, you want .001 to.002 thou for the standard. You have a barrel and cylinder standard gap and a headspace gap to go by. To fix it, well the easy way is by shims that you can get from Brownnells.
