Hey Y’all,

I hope I am putting this post into the correct section, but I think this revolver would be post 1980. Anyway, I recently added the Model 63 to my collection and am wondering if this was hand engraved or was laser cut. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. I’m a sucker for .22 caliber anything and thought this little revolver was super nice looking.

I'm looking forward to any information or thoughts y'all may be able to share.

Best,
Tom

Do Y’all think this is a one off engraved Model 63, or is a known series offered by S&W? Do y’all think it’s a factory engraved revolver or was completed after if left the factory? Just trying to learn about the new addition.

I value

Best,
Tom

That is hand engraved and very nicely! Probably not Factory engraved. I like it. :) If I were to guess, I would think that was engraved by one of the engravers at REI, maybe Ogawa... It also looks a little like some of Angelo Bee's work (but he almost always marks his guns with a bee or an "ABEE" stamp). Could you find any engraver marks or initials, perhaps under the thumbpiece or under the grips?

I'd happily add that one to my collection.

Hey Y'all,

Thanks so much for all of the nice words about my little revolver — I'm quite happy to have it in my collection. I wondered if it might not be a one off gun, but y'all seem to think it is. I'm certainly not upset by this . . . just surprised a bit.

I did remove the stocks and found nothing underneath. I also see nothing under the latch, on the crane, frame or under the extractor. I am familiar with Angelo Bee and do not see his initials nor can I find one of his stylized bee engravings. I suppose I will have to letter this little revolver and see if that helps with anything.

In the meantime, I would certainly appreciate any additional thoughts, ideas, and/or information.

Best,
Tom
