Entertaining stories I heard about hog hunting

.22-250 was interesting, but the question of barrel life sort've worries me. I've resolved to dip my feet in rifles with a .223, and not get too crazy with upgrades. Later on, if I'm enjoying myself, I can get into a more expensive cartridge, and perhaps a more serious rifle, using the .223 as a "plinker".

Years ago I did a lot of woodchuck hunting, I used a mod 70 in 220 swift, if I had one in my garden I used a 22 out the bathroom window.

For years i have hunted wild hogs in California and Texas with a 223 bolt rifle, first with 64 grain winchester powerpoints and now Barns copper bullets. Any one that thinks pigs are armoured and difficult to kill has not hunted them much.
