I wouldn't buy an Eotech with just a dot but that's just me. I have an Aimpoint Pro for just a dot - which I also like - but I prefer my Eotech.
You have the choice of a dot within the 65 MOA circle - as well as 2 dots within the 65 MOA circle.
I have an EXPS 2-0. In retrospect I think maybe I'd opt for the 2 dot version if I could have a do-over.
The XPS 2-0 is the single dot within the 65 MOA circle.
The XPS 2-2 is the two dots within the 65 MOA circle.
The XPS2-1 is just the dot with no circle.
I have the EoTech EXPS 3-2 tan version and I enjoy mine with the help of the EoTech G33 3x magnifier that works nicely with my S&W M&P 15-22LR rifle. Here's what I have for the setup.
I have an XPS 2-0 on my 5.56. I would not spent that for my 15-22 but if money is no object, it a nice sight. If you do spend the money I like the two dot version better. Once zeroed and tested at different distances it's easier to hit the center of your target at a variety of distances.
Eotechs rock but they are pricey. I have a 512 on my ar 15 and it's been solid. I picked up a primary arms micro red dot with a QD riser and so far it has been a solid sight and has many great reviews. Cost me about 100 bucks
I bought an unused, unmounted, old 511. The one that runs on 2 clock batteries. Has the circle with a dot. It was e lcheapo(like$350 cheap) because it was out of production and the guy just wanted to move the thing. It is tough as hell and works really well.
