My wife (Terri) insisted on buying 2 new rifle cases and a pistol case for her guns. Even worse she wanted to "find', inventory, and tag her guns so she can find them in the gun vaults.  She went through EVERYTHING. Rifles, revolvers, semi-autos, just everything.

The legitimate guns, the ones she knows about, and the illegitimate guns, those good deals I bought and brought home when she was at work. Well, a 1911 is a 1911 regardless of make, color, grips, blue or stainless. A revolver is a revolver, never mind caliber, barrel length, or frame size. And I found out she can't count either.

She has her 14 handguns bagged, tagged, wiped down, and in zippered cases. I don't know if they get "piled" back in the vault or I will now have to custom build a shelf unit for storage. I've bought 6 guns and she never noticed. I have a 'keeper'. Now that she is retired, she wants to go shooting.

I just broke the handle mount on my Dillon 550 loading 44 mag, but there is an adequate supply of 38 Spl, 9 MM, and lite 45 ACP target loads for her guns. Life is good! :D

EDIT: A successful intervention After wandering lost on the Internet for 2 hours, I found enough information to make New Mexico Collectors software work for inventory of all firearms. I told Terri that she could start the inventory process with her guns and ad photos. The silence was so heart warming. Another big bullet dodged.

It sounds like a great marriage!!!! My wife would let me buy six guns but affording them would be the problem. Cheers!!

I am sure my wife knows I have more guns then the ones she was with when I bought them. I don't think she can tell one 1911 from and other one Smith and Wesson revolver from another semi auto rifles. But she know how many Henry rifles I have cause she thinks they are pretty. I think all she cares about is the bills are paid there is food in the house and money for her to buy quilting supplies and travel.

Our agreement

Sounds like you need to buy Her a new Dillon:D

We met 15 years ago because she wanted cheaper ammo. We have 2 Dillons: 550B [large primer] and an upgraded 450 [small primer] that has auto prime, powder, and eject.

We have an agreement. I don't make sausage gravy and biscuits, she doesn't cast bullets or reload. The repair part is on its way from Dillon.

I believe she is able to count and knows about the guns you think she doesn't know about.
I'll bet you are right. :) In my case, I can only recall one gun, in particular, and possibly two that made it safely into the house and into one of my gun safes without the good wife knowing about it... or at least I think she didn't know about it. ;)

Then, the key is to show it to her a few months later and pretend that you had told her all about it at the time... and that she must have forgotten about it since so many come through the door. :D

I never pull that deception without a really good reason. Truthfully, I feel quite guilty about it. :(

But sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do... and she has no doubt pulled a lot worse on me! :D

My wife and I have a deal. She doesn't ask what I spend at the gun store, and I don't ask what she spends at the casino.

A keeper for sure.
Now reward her properly with her very own gun safe.
..... you know what I mean and why ......

The way I figure it , if I go first she's going to get them all anyways . She told me all she wants is her Lady Smiths and her Ruger SP101 in 327 . The rest she'll sell and MAYBE remember me as she spends it .

IN the mid 90's I bought a Remington Police Sniper rifle with the issue Leupold 3.5-10x40 scope (Never found out what department it had served in!)
While She was out with her friends and I was baby sitting our 4 kids, I carried it into the living room and laid it on the couch and didn't touch, look or talk about it for 5 or 6 weeks! Late summer, early fall was my busiest season, and I finally had a Saturday off and went target shooting while she and the kids were visiting her sister out of state. She arrived home Sunday afternoon and I was cleaning 8 or 9 rifles on the back porch. She walked buy the two tables of guns and the smell of Hoppes #9 would almost knock you down. I helped her with the kids and luggage and went back to cleaning while she got things settled. Then she brought me a cup of coffee!!! She walked right over to the sniper rifle and ask, "Have you had this one very long?" My reply was, "Yes a while. Why?" She looks right at me and says " OH, that's right, I've seen it around!" Turned and went to start supper.

That gentlemen, is how it is done!

About 3 years later, I'm tossing and turning in bed on a Sunday night, she wants to know what is bothering me. I tell he a guy named Scott (She has no idea who he is!) has a current German Army sniper rifle for $4000. It is a great deal, but there isn't any way I can buy or trade into it! She says, "Just get the money out of the savings account and buy the rifle! That isn't why we put the money away, but you need to get to sleep! "I responded, yes but... I never use the one I have!" Her response: "Whatever you want!, now get some sleep" I never bought that rifle and I sold the other too, But I still have a very nice stack of long range and sniper rifles! AND I have a real keeper of a wife, 41 years and 3 months tomorrow!

The first thing is to acquire an empty refrigerator box, one for the garage you know.
The rest is all camouflage
" why is it locked" she asks...it's for the children, I reply. There's beer in there.

A friend had a Furnace in his "work" room AND in the other end of the basement. It was a work of art complete with ductwork and A/C lines and a gas line, in an all electric house. (That's how I figured it out!)

He wasn't the only one hiding things. When his wife left him, she had squirreled away $35,000 in cash for mad money! (makes half a dozen guns look like chump change!)
