My wife (Terri) insisted on buying 2 new rifle cases and a pistol case for her guns. Even worse she wanted to "find', inventory, and tag her guns so she can find them in the gun vaults.
She went through EVERYTHING. Rifles, revolvers, semi-autos, just everything.
The legitimate guns, the ones she knows about, and the illegitimate guns, those good deals I bought and brought home when she was at work. Well, a 1911 is a 1911 regardless of make, color, grips, blue or stainless. A revolver is a revolver, never mind caliber, barrel length, or frame size. And I found out she can't count either.
She has her 14 handguns bagged, tagged, wiped down, and in zippered cases. I don't know if they get "piled" back in the vault or I will now have to custom build a shelf unit for storage. I've bought 6 guns and she never noticed. I have a 'keeper'. Now that she is retired, she wants to go shooting.
I just broke the handle mount on my Dillon 550 loading 44 mag, but there is an adequate supply of 38 Spl, 9 MM, and lite 45 ACP target loads for her guns. Life is good!
EDIT: A successful intervention After wandering lost on the Internet for 2 hours, I found enough information to make New Mexico Collectors software work for inventory of all firearms. I told Terri that she could start the inventory process with her guns and ad photos. The silence was so heart warming. Another big bullet dodged.
