I have two thoughts.
If the two escaped murderers happen to get shot and killed while resisting arrest, it's a win for all involved.
As for the female guard accused of assisting them. At this point she's just "accused" of the crime not convicted, and I have not heard much in terms of details of how she assisted or evidence that she committed a crime.
I have no doubt the folks in charge are looking to blame someone other than themselves or their procedures. I also have no doubt they can find an inmate or to willing to throw a guard under the bus, but that doesn't make the "witnesses" credible.
Given that she was investigated in the past for a suspected relationship with the inmate, I can see why she's a person of interest. On the other hand, given that investigation came up dry, it's also not open and shut - based on the very limited information that has bene released - that she's guilty of the charges for which she's just been arraigned.
Let her have her day in court, and if she's found guilty after a fair trial, then talk sentencing. Anything else is more than a little premature.
