Escaped murderers: thoughts?

I think I would like to see at least one of them captured alive, just to find out how they pulled it off. Where did the power tools come from? Why didn't anyone hear the noise? How did they open that manhole cover? What was the woman's part in the caper?

Rehabilitation...

The word 'con' isn't just short for 'convict' but 'con man' (or woman) They use intimidation, flattery, insecurities, loneliness and ANYTHING that will get them what they want at someone elses expense, livelihood or life.

I would imagine in that part of the state, and under the circumstances, if a citizen dropped the hammer on them in self-defense, it would be difficult to find a prosecutor who would bring charges or to convene a jury that would be willing convict the shooter. Even in NY.

One would hope, but... if that righteous deed was done with one of a list of evil weapons, that the citizen had chosen not to register as "required" by the NY Safe Act, then what would be the consequence?

Imagine being a regular person, not trained or paid to fight for your life (-or even one who has, or had been) and having to do so, only to face a zealous prosecutor who doesn't see the greater good in what you've done.

Many, even most, NY sheriffs have been supportive of the Constitution. Many others have not.

We need this law repealed.

I think the police are totally missing the boat here.
If I were in charge I would be concentrating the search down in Zihuatanejo. Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
I'd take OldTexMex with me and go try to root them out. Shouldn't take more than a couple of months.

I'm all for that, but I'm not goin without an attorney, preferably one with experience in Napolianic law. (Like they use in Louisiana) Is there an attorney in the house?:D

Oh yeah....We'd have to swing through San Miguel de Allende and pick up Calmex, to watch six.

A female guard helped them by giving them tools. She should get the same sentence that they have.

Nope: their sentences plus 50 years on each count of aiding and abetting. She can spend the rest of her life in prison. Seeing as she has a thing for inmates, should work out well for all concerned.

Do the loop and come north to Bahia La Cholla, Sonora. You can roost at my place for a few. Tecate, ice, gas, shrimp and purty girls frolicking on the beach. Those two must be around here somewheres.

While going through training, the trainers stress that inmates will do whatever they can to gain your confidense. Still, I saw several females fired where I worked at--who fell for the trap. Some of these ladies fired--were real lookers too and I could never fathom that they would fall for any inmate. yet--they did.

Oh and now--and FINALLY, if an employee here in TX gets caught playing tender mercies with an inmate--they get fired and they they get to/spend some time in prison. The State of Texas aint playing that ganme no mo.

I have two thoughts.

If the two escaped murderers happen to get shot and killed while resisting arrest, it's a win for all involved.

As for the female guard accused of assisting them. At this point she's just "accused" of the crime not convicted, and I have not heard much in terms of details of how she assisted or evidence that she committed a crime.

I have no doubt the folks in charge are looking to blame someone other than themselves or their procedures. I also have no doubt they can find an inmate or to willing to throw a guard under the bus, but that doesn't make the "witnesses" credible.

Given that she was investigated in the past for a suspected relationship with the inmate, I can see why she's a person of interest. On the other hand, given that investigation came up dry, it's also not open and shut - based on the very limited information that has bene released - that she's guilty of the charges for which she's just been arraigned.

Let her have her day in court, and if she's found guilty after a fair trial, then talk sentencing. Anything else is more than a little premature.

I really think law enforcement does not have a clue where these guys are. Two days ago, they were on a news conference asking for the public's help and poof - within 48 hours they got them down to 50 acres. I don't think so. This is all just posturing.

Some citizen will see them both or one of them and possibly pop him. I don't see them "giving up".

She isn't a prison guard. She was a civilian employee.

NEW YORK (AP) — Training to work in maximum-security prisons includes stern warnings that add up to one message: Don't get too close to the inmates.
Never treat the relationship as anything other than professional. Never reveal personal details an inmate could use to compromise you. And never forget you are dealing with hardened, often cunning, criminals.

Investigators say prison tailor shop instructor Joyce Mitchell ignored those admonitions with frightening consequences, actually helping a pair of convicted killers make their power-tool breakout from upstate New York's Clinton Correctional Facility. She pleaded not guilty Friday night to charges of felony promoting prison contraband and misdemeanor criminal facilitation linked to the escape.
