Escaped murderers: thoughts?

Just read on the local news that the plan was for them to kill her husband and then drive to Vermont after she picked them up. Apparently, there's also the possibility that they had cell phones. When she chickened out, they could have maybe called somebody else to come get them.

"Clinton Correctional Facility employee Joyce Mitchell told investigators that she agreed to a plan where she would pick up killers David Sweat and Richard Matt following their escape, and then they would kill her husband and head to a cabin in Vermont, according to a report in the Albany Times-Union."

Is it?

Governor Cuomo is dodging Federal corruption charges. The well publicized photos of him examining the escape tunnel were possibly him seeking pointers.

The former Senator from New York, who was never really from New York, and her husband were "allegedly" involved in all sorts of things and people around them had a habit of turning up tend. Suicides with typed notes...air planes exploding...

The New York Post described the state as "awash in corruption".

The State speaker is up on charges for extortion, kick backs and bribes.

Those who rank such things give the place a "D" on corruption.

Thus the farce of everyone focusing on these two guys when those running things are themselves criminals.

I don't hate New York. I rather dislike hypocrisy though, the more so in high places.

A "D" ranking would be very generous, an "F+" more like it. Corruption runs from the mansion in Albany right down to the local planning boards.

Yeah right......:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
Sure baby, we'll kill your husband - All you gotta do is get us out of here :D

BUT
*Somehow* she wound up holding the bag

Those guys most likely had a way different plan than what she (and TheLaw) thinks they had.
The main contraband that they needed were cellphones.

I'd bet that they're long gone -- and have been.
I'll be very surprised if they are still in NY - OR even the Northeast for that matter.....

Disclaimer: I have been wrong before :o

How about one "good friend" who supposedly died in an airplane crash, but it seemed that he was actually shot in the head with a captive bolt cattle killer first?

If they were still in the immediate area of the prison, they would have been captured, shot, or given up by now. It's obvious they have fled for parts unknown but distant, probably with assistance. Fortunate that the prison woman accomplice got cold feet, as they would have killed her as soon as they no longer needed her. Prison is preferable to dismemberment.

A female guard helped them by giving them tools. She should get the same sentence that they have.

She's not a Corrections Officer, she is a civilian employee and is not a member of law enforcement in any way shape or form.
I'm about an hour south of that prison. I don't work for the same system but as a CO I have seen more than a few civilians get themselves duped by the worse of the worst. The local bible study is a great example. They think we beat the tar out of the inmates on a daily basis. The wife and I go to the church that does all the bible study programs for the jails and prisons in the area, and occasionally someone from the church asks me what I do for a living. Funny how after I tell them they never speak to me again.
As far as the area where these two dirt...sorry, inmates are supposedly in, well its pretty rugged, I grew up in that area and know it well. If they want to head south, they have to go over (you're not going around them) the high peaks of the Adirondacks, and its the height of black fly season. Not to mention the mosquitoes are bad but the worst thing after the black flies die out are the deer flies. They are totally ruthless and they laugh at bug spray.
The wife is a little worried but the good thing is now she isn't upset as she was at first when I get the 870 for the house! The latest is now the woman who wanted to help Thing 1 and Thing 2 escape was possibly looking at having one whack her husband and she was going to run off together with them. I think they would have found her body in 24 hours if she hadn't chickened out. If she thinks she has anxiety now, willing to bet her first night in jail when that door shut behind her got the blood pressure up slightly.

Look up the Robert Garrow manhunt, when he escaped from Fishkill prison everyone thought he took the local highway, but like these two, no sightings, no tracks, nothing. They used helicopters, dogs, and for three days, nothing. The CO's found a radio on the ground, it was the only clue. They hiked through the thickest brush on the grounds, even the dog handlers wouldn't take the dogs in there. Suddenly they spotted Garrow and he opened up with a gun his son snuck in for him and the CO's dropped him. His hiding spot for three days was within sight of the prison walls and that terrain where he was is nothing compared to the area these two guys are in.

New development..

Word is that the tailor lady traded helping them escape for doing a 'hit' on her husband. This story will surely make the crime shows on TV. "Tempting siren bribes two inmates with sexual favors to murder her husband" or some lie like that.:eek::p:D
