Apparently these were manufactured by a shop in North Carolina back in the day.

Not sure how many were made?

Do any of our NC members or members elsewhere have one stashed away?

The one I have was gifted to me by the guy who designed it.

I haven’t shot it yet…probably a good chance I won’t 👍

More than one company made those.

I gave a .22 LR version of that to my college roommate and he promptly shot himself in the thigh when the hammer caught on the inside of his coat pocket.

That one might have been made by (or for) FIE in Florida.

Never seen one before - a 5 shot derringer? How does it work? Does it involve some type of twisting motion? ;)

Merry Christmas to all!

My friend shot himself in the back of the thigh with a 38 derringer.
It was in his back pocket and he was washing his feet when it went off.

My brother gave me a Davis 22 Derringer. It is the only gun I can think of that might not be accurate enough for SD.

I think it’s just two shots, over under.

The barrels rotate by hand on a central spindle.

At least that’s how the one I had worked.

Here's a video I found.

Back in late 70s I bought these Twist-2 derringers by the dozen from a company named Kimel in NC. If I remember right they were $12 @ by the unit.
Little story on them. Bought my boy a 20g for squirrel. We shot a good bit to the point he wasn’t doing bad on hand thrown clays. Was going on first
squirrel hunt of which I had a den tree full of greys spotted for him. We weren’t there 10 minutes before one came out of knothole. Boy couldn’t see it. I had only the Twist -2 pistol in my shirt pocket. I told him to get ready to shoot, I was going to shoot at squirrel with Twist 2 and it would move, hence he would see it and get his 1st squirrel. If I didn’t have him as witness I would never tell this story, I dead centered that squirrel at 20yds.
I thought I had a match grade derringer. Soon debunked, I shotgun across my basement thru a 34” door to garage wall. Shot at bullet trap with wrist rested on chair. Bullet didn’t make it through door opening, hit door casing so that shot was about 19” left. That ended my squirrel hunting with the twist -2.
