Wondering if anyone has tried this extended mag from Elite Tactical Systems and been satisfied. It's polymer, so the quality of its build is important.

I'm going to a Tier1 Concealed appendix holster with only one spare mag. Since the Sutherland Springs church shooting, many of us in church security have gone to 52 rounds on our belt, with two spare stock mags. Carrying this 30-rd mag in the single spare mag slot of my T1C holster would bump me up to 48 rounds, appendix carry.

Thoughts?

I bought several ETS mags for various guns. Based on how the extended version functioned in my H&K, I would NEVER carry one when dependability is vital. They've all been relegated to Range Toy status.

That right there is golden info. Thank you Sir.

It seems that metal extended mags from ProMag have a much better rep.

Well, you'll find out how good Promags rep is here shortly.

Spoiler Alert: that does not bode well for ETS.

I'm a high capacity pistol guy. I cannot think of a use for a 30-round pistol mag.

If that many balloons have gone up—having used up all 18 rounds originally in my full size M&P—another 30 from a hard to conceal and unwieldy to shoot 30-round mag is not the best solution IMO. My spare mag is a 21-round Taran Tactical extended mag. Easily carried, easily shot.

A locked but accessible long gun would need to come into play, with multiple good guys defending against multiple attackers who choose to stay and fight rather than run when encountering resistance.

Even at 30+ pistol rounds one is talking about suppressive, not aimed fire. That's pretty much military assault stuff, and I just have a hard time imagining church security being elevated to that level of combat.

Now, ETS. I have three of their standard Glock mags that have always worked fine. I have had two of their pistol mag loaders that have not worked at all. They are not a competitor to Magpul in the polymer gun accessory realm. Second tier at best. Thirty round pistol mags are very hard to get right, and there's no point in dealing with one without unreserved recommendations, which you will not get with ETS. A 30-round unreliable mag that gags at round 3, 8 or 16 is less useful than a standard 17-round mag.

I agree that 30 round is more for gangster tiktoks. However it was the only steel extended mag that I had found. Thanks for the 21rd tip. Taran currently lists only a complete Shield mag for sale. I take it yours are base pad extension instead?

TT website; magazine extensions; full size M&P; choose options; capacity. Expensive, but my two have been flawless. There may be others that are equivalent, attach differently, and cost less, but they aren't any better, IMO.

We crossed in the mail, as it were. Initially I was only looking for complete mags. Then I found the Base Pads you use.

Indeed, $50 for a base plate extension isn't cheap ...

I don't know about ETS stuff, but I do know that Promag extended mags are pretty much a lottery. Indeed, some of their products for certain pistols invoke comments that cannot be used on this forum.
