I just saw ETS is now selling 7rd, 9rd and 12rd mags for the 9mm Shield.

I had a 10% off coupon (ETSSH10) so I picked up two 12rd to try.

Has anyone tried their mags in a Shield?

Not yet, been waiting for some reviews. They seem to get decent reviews for most of the mags they make, but I have seen some reports of cracking.

Can you post pics of the 12 rounders in the gun? I want to see how far they stick out, but have yet to see pics.

I'm curious too. Just ordered them yesterday. I'll take some pics for you guys when I get them.

I was told years ago from my CWP instructor to purchase only OEM mags for carry. He's seen too many jams with aftermarket mags. Just my $.02.
I don't carry anything until I've thoroughly tested it. I'll run a few hundred rounds through these before I'd trust them. I'll also leave them loaded to see how they handle that. If they give me any trouble at all, I won't use them.

They'd never be the primary mag in any case. My OEM 7rd mags get that job.

I have ETS mags for my Glock 43 ... Run great 100% ... For range use only , at least for me ....

FYI, I just got the 12rd mags. Here are the pictures as promised.

They definitely stick down pretty far. I've taken a picture next to an 8rd Shield mag and a 16rd SD9 mag for comparison.

IMHO, extended mags are range toys for people that dislike reloading.

Most people that want to take my defense courses have no reloading skills and never practice reloading once they are taught.

"They'd never be the primary mag in any case. My OEM 7rd mags get that job. " dmk0210 has it right. They are my choice for competition and carry also.

I might get a couple for my Desantis ankle mag pouch. Mag length doesn't matter in that.

Non-OEM mags are asking for a malfunction imo. I use the 7 and 8 round OEM mags only for both range and especially carry. YMMV.

I have been running the hyve extensions close to two yrs now. They make my shield 45 7 rd mags 8 rd mags carried plus one so 9 total.
Not a single issue with them and yes I know how to reload um.
