I have not been able to get on to Mr Marshall's Stopping Power site for about a week. I hope he is well. There was so much good information there for those who wanted to find it and many of the posters are, were, well respected experts in firearms and self defense. A great loss if it is a thing of the past.

It was a forum administered by Evan Marshall the author of 3 books on handgun stopping power. You had to be accepted to be able to post but anyone could view it. Most posters were LEO and trainers and there were many good ideas given about firearms, tactics, equipment, life and honor. If for whatever reason it is no more it will be missed.

I usually go there daily but haven't been able to get on for more than a week. The site has been hacked several times before and had to be shut down to fix it. I hope it's not gone offline since it's a really good site.

I am also wondering about the status of the website, and am glad to see some familiar names here. I hope the Stopping Power website is up and running soon.

I was a frequent visitor there for a long time...kinda got spooked last year after multiple hacks.
Good stuff there...they didn't put up with mall ninja types. I like that.

back when Combat Handguns was mostly a B & W magazine and one of the best of all. Evan Marshall was the only writer that I have ever sent a letter to. I sent it to him through the magazine. I was surprised a couple of weeks later when I got a reply. he gave me his address if I had anymore questions for him. he seemed to be a pretty nice guy. this was probably 30 years ago or so.

I still read his first book on stopping power every couple of years because I though it had the most common sense
