It may, if it has a positive latch; if it is spring or friction probably not. In Europe slings on shot guns are common, usually using a silver soldered loop or eye, and a sling with a hook.

The Europeans and British like slings on double guns. Their swivels are usually mounted on the rib between the barrels. I have seen a sort of a clamp that goes over both barrels to hold a sling swivel, no idea where you might find one. I would not put one on the wood fore end of a double gun.

Almost all doubles I have ever seen had a block either silver soldered to the under rib or the block was mounted with screws. Never seen one mounted to a forend. Doubt the forend latch would hold the sling mounted on the forend wood
Years ago I had a sling put on a SXS shotgun that had a push button release on the forward end of the forearm. The wood in the forend was not thick enough for the swivel threads so a piece of metal (oblong washer with threaded hole)) was placed inside the forend for the swivel screw. Worked great. Larry
Swivel bases are just soft soldered onto the bottom rib. Sometimes held with two small screws (5x40 or so),,a few both.
O/U swivel is soft soldered right to the bbl itself.
For a quick sling hook up, there are slip on arrangements like 6518John linked to that slide over the bbls and down to or almost to the forend.
Some block your sight a little or a lot as they wrap around the top of the rib. More expensive ones are leather covered spring clip steel up front that slides down w/a space to clear the rib.
I'd avoid attaching to the forend wood. Pulling the wood right off of the forend iron isn't uncommon.
Alot depends on what type of forend assembly attachment mechanism you have on the gun and then how the wood is secured to the forend iron itself.

I WOULD GO THIS ROUTE, POSITIONING IT WHERE Rudi's WAS. A SMALL FIXTURE, SILVER SOLDERED IN, WILL BE UNOBTRUSIVE.....
IMHO, THE WOODEN FOREND IS TOO FRAGILE TO SUPPORT THE WEIGHT OF THE WEAPON, OVER THE LONG RUN........

The Sicilian Sling. Handy for when you get hit by the Sicilian Thunderbolt, Apollonia!
Never put a sling on a SxS but wouldn't do forearm mount. Take
to a Smith and have stud soldered on bottom rib. I have saved
many doubles from junk pile over the years. Besides stocks, guys
fooling around putting slings and sights on them ruin some good
old guns. Some try to get away with soft soldering onto bottom
rib or D&T it. Some get away with this but most ruin the gun. The
hollow void on most SXSs isn't big enought to accept a screws of
size lage enough for the load. I also know of guys using various
epoxies for this. Silver soldering on doubles is above most guys
pay rate. Barrels have to be clamped in jig to prevent heat from
separating. The longer it takes to solder the greater the chance of
this. Occasionally I get a double that has buldged barrels from
firing with bore obstruction. Some so bad barrels separate from
rib. My saving barrels is hoping there is 18" + that can be saved.

with low temp Silver Solder. y

THESE ARE THE SICILIAN "LUPARA" GUNS. THEY ARE USEFUL AGAINST WOLVES IN THE HILLS, AND OF COURSE, IN VENDETTAS.......
