I was bidding on a 3913 about a week ago at GB, but lost it at the last 10 seconds or so. :D Good thing, seeing as I traded for one here in the classifieds after the bidding started. I put the bid in about 3 days before the trade and was the high bidder up until the last moment. Was touch and go there for awhile as it seemed there was little interest, and my bid was the high one for about a week. Good thing another bidder rescued me. Whoever you are, thanks. :D:D

I have been rescued a couple of times from bids after I have found a better deal elsewhere after bidding. Being sniped isn't always a bad thing.

I have been on a model 19 buying binge lately.
Laid out a bid on GB for one at $425...nice but not great..
Then shipping was $35...Now I'm at $460 plus the hamburger for
my dealer..(she works cheap.)
Day later I walk in a pawn shop...pristine 19-4 on the shelf.
Dealer says that yours for $325 otd if you want it.
He advised he was putting some quick cash together for a gold buy.
Naturally I buy it.
Five days later the GB auction is coming to an end...dude out bids me
an hour before end of auction...

Yep, been there and done it...and alcohol wasn't even a factor!!

Glad to know I'm not the only one and congrats on your good luck!

Not on GunBroker, but on Ebay. It was a military surplus item-forgotten what it was, already. I bid it up way past what I would have paid, I figure I made the buyer happy.

You can't get sniped on GB, the clock resets if someone places a new bid. But if you mean someone placed a bid and saved you from yourself, yeah, that can be a good feeling sometimes.
