As I mentioned while on the boat we tied our stuff together and towed it behind the boat, while in the company area there was no way to get the starch out. I remember it helped to turn them inside out a couple of times for each leg and sleeve. I spent more time away from the company area than in. At another facility our house-mouse washed our stuff on an individual basis, since I ran commando my laundry needs were pretty low. It was only in the company area that we had anything like starch added. You could tell some guys rarely sent their stuff out and got pretty funky. It was also easy to tell a "weed" from the bright green color of their fatigues, compared to the faded green from periodic boiling in water and sun exposure.
