Ever have a S&W you hated?

Actually so far...No, Guess I been lucky over the years. I had to think back and liked every Smith I ever owned. Some more than others of course.

I don't hate unruly guns, just unruly people. I don't like any of the current production guns that I see. I don't like any IL gun, DAO auto, or any X frame, or any with a bobbed hammer. And I REALLY don't like all these ones I see on this forum that I can't afford.

Yes, a "Performance center" model 15-8 in high polished nickel. Paid $650 off Gunbroker for it.

I've squeezed better triggers on a Rossi revolver. Contrary to the performance centers boast about "..forged parts only.." this abomination had a MIM hammer and MIM trigger. The hammer was even uglier by virtue of the trough cut in the side for use with the internal lock. Being this was a pre lock revolver with the nicely shaped frame around the trigger, this trough was visible above the frame.

Evidently after 2001, the Performance Center went the way of the rest of S&W's product line.

I owned this plated junk for less than 48 hours. I traded even for a 3" 13-3 and haven't looked back! :) Regards 18DAI.

ive had friends who had a 41 smith, and had all sorts of problems. however i have one that ive had 15yrs,best semi auto i ever owned. it has very good accuracy, and has never jammed. my friends dont believe me. ive let them shoot it,for proof.
you do have to keep them clean. i think thats a problem, many have.

M&P40C. It was my wife's first gun and she was excited when she bought it but it didn't take long for her to become very disappointed. I took the gun off her hands when she wanted to get rid of it thinking that I could do something with it, but I was apparently deluded. :) That gun had a horrible trigger, shot patterns instead of groups (I managed to get it down to 5" pattens at 7 yards with some trigger work), the pin that held the two pieces of the trigger together walked out and had to be tapped back into place about every 50 rounds or so, and it just felt kind of "cheap" to me, especially the plastic trigger. I wound up replacing the sear block to return it to factory spec, sold it with full disclosure, and have never looked back.
