Every once in a while...

...I see 2 piece Bangor Punta boxes that are a "bright blue" in color. Anyone know the significance? Or was it just another one of their unexplained manufacturing/production head scratchers?

I had always figured it was just a different batch of ink and/or they were stored differently (dirt/oil, sunlight).

the bright ones i have seen seemed to be from the early 80's timeframe according to serial#. all of the 24-3 guns i have seen had the bright blue boxes and the early model 63 had brigth blue too.

Thanks guys.

I thought about a different ink batch possibly from a different dye or ink process. Never thought about a specific year range. (toward the end of Bangor Punta) All of mine are the darker blue in the 2 piece box.

Often when I see the brighter blue boxes, a red light would go off. Now I know...

My 24-3 has the bright blue box also.
