"Evil" magazines...

So I have a whole grunch of .40 brass. Incidental pickups from policing my .45ACP. Been sorta casually looking for something to launch them with.

Found a used 4046 FS at $400. Hmmm.... DAO. Interesting.

No magazine? Figured it had to be some evil 13 or 14 rounder at least. Looked up magazines at Midway. 11 rounds?

Sometimes living in the People's Republik is just plain stupid.

Meh.. the mag disconnect is a bigger deal killer for me than the DAO thing. And figuring $50 for mags I'd be over $500 OTD.

The magazines for these are only 11 rounders. This is mainly because the 40 cal 3rd gens were designed from the 59 series 9mm's. So basically they aren't so much double stacks, but more 1 1/2 stack due to the extra width of the cartridge. You should be able to find plenty of 10 rnd, California safe, magazines out there for a good price, and you'll only be missing 1 round from the factory "Hi Capacity" magazine. The magazines they are trying to sell are way over priced since you can buy the standard 11 rnd mags for around $10 to $15 from several places. CDNN usually has both the 10 and 11 rnd magazines at a good price.

As for the price, if it was LNIB that would be ok, but on the high side, but I am thinking in AZ terms of price.

The Cheaper Than D people (CTD) should have some used 11 round mags for your 40 series for about $7.97 each. Ive got 8 of them for my 4003 and they worked great.
Opps!! I just noticed you live in California, SORRY, CTD did not have any cheap 10 rnd ($37) mags. Also $400 sounds a bit high, maybe good in cali.

Yup... since nobody wants to ship guns to The People's Republik the prices are higher in the shops. That's my theory, anyway.

Deals appear occasionally but I'm learning ya gotta pounce right away.

My local shop is pretty fair so I support him when I can.
