Ok, so as I get ready to cross the 8000 round mark, Im starting to wonder... when does the barrel get "shot out" or become unuseable? 10k?15k?20K, never because its a .22?

Closer to "never".
The rounds aren't hot enough to cause throat erosion, and the steel is way way harder than the lead. You won't be able to do enough damage to it by simply shooting.
You could mess it up in other ways like incorrect cleaning methods and the like, but the wear a FMJ barrel gets is way more than any soft lead bullet barrel.

I have a Stevens Model 87 and an old Winchester autoloader from the 1940's that are excellent rifles and have been shot WELL beyond the threshold of a reasonable round count. Both are very accurate. I was shooting 1/2" black dots and putting 3 shots in the black consistently (some in nearly the same POI) with the Stevens and CCI Mini-Mags recently. It's one of the most accurate .22's I've ever owned. (And I don't concider myself an excellent marksman.)
Saying that only to illustrate that shooting a lot doesn't seem to have much effect. Care and maintenance probably have more effect than actual shooting.

I have a Stevens Model 66B Buckhorn from 1928.
As a kid I put probably 20k rounds through it....
Who knows how many rounds were put through before me.....
And yet, it is still more accurate than any modern 22 I have shot.

Maybe 250,000 rounds, for a start. The wear of lead bullets on steel is essentially non-existent. You are more likely to damage the barrel from using cheap, multi-section cleaning rods and ill-fitting patch jags.
My High Standard match pistol has somewhere between 60-80k through it and it still will put 10 rounds into the X-ring of a 25 yard slow fire target from 25 yards, from a machine rest. Original springs, too.
With match ammo, of course.
