I need to come up with some funds, and I'm thinking about selling some Smith and Wessons. I am not sure what I really want to part with though. What do you guys think this pre-17 would sell for? The grips are numbered but do not match the revolver. Locks up and is mechanically perfect. Holster wear in all the normal places.
Serial K211xx
Thank you!

It is an early gun to have a highly polished blue finish; is there any evidence it has been reblued? A photo of the right side would help, along with one of the left lower side of the grip frame with the stock panel removed.

I don't think that it's been reblued. Here's some more pictures.

Thank you!

The non-matching SN on the grips also cuts the value a little, but at least they appear to be period-correct. I'll go with the $600-$700 estimate range, but I'd tend to be toward the bottom end as more realistic. Nothing collectible about it, just a shooter, but a good shooter. K209xx is a K-22 which shipped in 5/48.

I just spent two days at Wanenmacher's gun show.

In the condition of the OP's K22, $500 - $550, max.

They were all over the place by the dozens.

There are more pre 17s on the market now than there ever were when they were in production. If you want to actually sell it, it's probably a $500-550 gun.
