I just got two in the mail for my S&W Shield 9mm and installed them. As promised, they add an additional 1 rd to either 7 or 8rd mag. Stiffness to load feels similar to stock, although slipping a fully loaded mag into the well is better now, just kind of clicks in without much pressure. I haven't shot them yet, tomorrow maybe. But I did manually cycle two full mags each with no issues and slide locked back fine on empty on both mags. I'm tickled, but want to know...Anyone have issues or concerns with these that I should be aware of?

Mag standing up has the new MagGuts installed. To the left of it is a comparison of the OEM and MagGuts spring assemblies. MagGuts is a hair LONGER overall, but has a thin sheet metal locking plate and a slightly thicker sheet metal follower.

A little costly, like buying another whole magazine, but it's only money right?

I wrote about the MagGuts kits in a couple of the currently active "Larger Capacity"/"Larger Mag" threads. I even commented about the kits in several threads a couple Months back, like in this thread: http://smith-wessonforum.com/smith-wesson-m-p-pistols/419461-m-p-shield-owners-check-out.html

I have been playing with the MagGuts spring Kits for a couple Months now and have about 500 full loads through each of the mags I'm experimenting with. No problems whatsoever.
Easier to Fully load each mag,
Easier to seat a fully loaded mag (no 'slamming it home'),
The follower rides smoothly through the mag body (originally a main concern with a metal Follower),
The follower trips the Slide Stop each and every time (another concern I originally had).

I thought the follower was starting to fail to trip the Slide Stop, but found out it was just my thumb riding the lever (something that just evolved out of nowhere... Strange)

Glad you pointed me to the previous thread. Good read. I was able to slip out a few minutes ago and toss a few downrange. No hiccups at all. I'll continue to plink with them for a bit before I trust them for EDC mags, but I am quite pleased thus far.

It seems like there are more people interested in trying MagGuts over on MP-Forum than here. The kit has gotten a much warmer welcome over there.
Good to hear that they're working well.
Also good to read that they went together easily for you the very first time. It seems like getting them installed properly is the hardest part. A couple people over on MP-Forum had problems and the biggest 'tell' is that they either couldn't get the last round loaded, or had no extra 'push' on the spring when fully loaded. Once they took it apart and reinstalled, everything would load as easily as it should.
