I picked up my Shield 9 when they first came out. I wanted to use the extended mag but I just don't like that slider/spacer design on it. So I traded my extended mag for another flat base and I've added Pearce bases to all my short mags. This gives me a little extra purchase and has worked well for me.
Enter the Shield 45. I picked one up a month ago and love it. I much prefer the extended mag on this one (no slider this time) and I immediately purchased a couple more of them.
I hope Smith is considering updating the extended mag on the Shield 9 and adopting the improved design of the Shield 45 extended mag. It is definitely an improvement in my view.
