hi y'all!

i have an sd9ve and a busted up thumb joint. i find it difficult to reach the slide stop release lever.

Does anyone make an extended slide stop release lever that sticks out more or how to MacGyver one?

or are they as easy to find as small pistol primers?

thanks - george t

Nothing says you must use your gun hand thumb to release the slide stop. If you're a righty and just inserted a mag, reach up with the support hand thumb and hit the slide stop. If you're a lefty, the gesturing digit on the support hand.

welcome to S&W forum no extended slide release that I know of . I do recommend wide body takedown plate available NDZ ,Galloway and Amazon.

i got the wide body take down almost immediately after cursing a lot and bleeding trying to use the stock one. what a crappy design on a good gun!

using my off hand to release the slide or sling shot release is what i normally do. just looking for the extended slide release as an add on to make a one handed release easier if i ever needed it.

thanks for the comments.

Welcome to the Forum george t

I too have never seen an extended Slide Stop Lever for a SD9VE
It seems HUGE compared to the ones used on M&Ps & Glocks

I suppose if you had an extra one you could add an extension or make it thicker either by silver soldering or using JB Weld or bending it outwards some = MacGyver It..
I'd want an extra so if I screwed it up, I could always go back to the factory part, MGW Sells them for $6.50

I SEE THIS IS AN OLD THREAD NOW, SORRY ABOUT THAT
Did you ever invent an extended slide stop lever george t??

Small Pistol Primers do seem hard to find but are available
