Extractor issue

No matter what brand or type ammo i shoot, i get a few rounds off then it fails to eject the spent case. Ive even tried that high dollar cci ar22 ammo. I have bought new magazines, still same issue.
It will feed the next round but not fully eject the previous spent case.
Anyone have a fix for that?

First thing's first, make sure the extractor is not fouled up with carbon underneath the claw. Also, when you try to manually eject, does it work as intended?

I have had this happen a few times during each session at the range with my 15-22 pistol, during cleaning I noticed the ejector/extractor pin that is attached to the barrel was loose. It will move in and out; left and right. The one on my rifle is rock solid. S&W sent a shipping label to print out; got to send it off for repair.

I had this issue with Federal Bulk. About every 4th or 5th would fail to eject. I found that the extractor was not getting a good grip on the rim of the shell. It would pull it out of the chamber and once fully clear of the chamber it would fall straight down.
I never pulled out my caliper, but it looked like the Federal shell had a narrower lip. All CCI including Blazer extract fine for me.
I contacted S&W CS and they said they are sending me a new extractor, but that was close to a month ago and I haven't seen anything yet.

Ive tried mini mags, federals bulk, winchesters 333, cci ar22, troy landrys, then some target ammo as well, all mags all ammo, same issue, i have wiped the ejector very thoroughly, i watch how it mates with the bolt assembly and no binding there. This gun has done this right out of the box, bought it at academy last year in october. S&W wants a copy of the sales receipt which i dont have and the clerk at acadamy gave me the eye of the chicken look when i asked to get another receipt.

i bought a supposed new 15-22 from dicks last year, and it was messed up, check and see if the ejector is loose, mine was loose, i sent it back to s&w. Oh i will never buy from Dicks again, i believe they may be getting used guns, from what i have learned and seen.

Copy of Sales reciept or copy of ATF Form 4473

S&W wants a copy of the sales receipt which i dont have and the clerk at acadamy gave me the eye of the chicken look when i asked to get another receipt.

I accidentally lost my sales receipt too, but only a week had gone by, so the sales clerk didn’t have a hard time finding my purchase in their computer records and printed out another for me…..

However, as shown in your manual, on page 29, you can also send a copy of the ATF Form 4473 vesus the Bill of Sale. Go back and ask for a copy of this.

I have never heard of S&W asking for proof of purchase before. Is this something new? I am now wondering if this is going to be the case going forward?

Oil and more oil (before anything else)

A wild guess
I always try to do something really easy first.

Try taking a Q tip with a few drops of oil and oil your chamber every few rounds.

If it works fine then ask some gunsmith about polishing the chamber.

(A 22 rimfire being blowback, any gripping, however instantaneous as the shell expands could be a factor).

(What is it that has no extractor -- Beretta Bobcat?) (yes a 22 just blows itself out of there - the weight of the slide means it moves slower backward than the bullet forward).

You see, I messed up with my new buckmark a few years ago. Tried it out without cleaning and it jammed a couple times per magazine. Oiled the bore and oiled the bejeebers out of it, and worked the action with more oil added. Stored it upside down on sights, with handle angled one way one night then the other way the other night (oil ran everywhere except the wood grips)

Next time I shot it, it cycled just fine. I would have liked to have known the reason and I blew the chance to experiment. Never did need to take it apart.

Next time I buy a semi auto I will take oil and cleaning rod to range with me first time.

A little extra information.

When the 22 shell blows back the action on a Beretta Bobcat, it then hit’s the ejector flinging it away.

The normal .22 style extractor would just be in the way in a tip open barrel Berretta. Unless one has a jam and must clear that jam quickly perhaps.

So the more complete answer is that the blowback actions, up to and including most .380 pistols can probably function without extractors.

Blowback action extractors only pull out bullets when you work the action manually.
I will not comment on actions that dip to unlock because there is more going on than I care to think about. But all power to working an action comes from the shells backward motion -- except on gas piston actions.

Blowback actions and rimfire

All that I want to accomplish here is to give a little thought - or stimulate discussion - to the shell expanding against the chamber wall. When the chamber wall is dirty, or rough, there is gripping involved that I believe retards the blowback motion.

The cartridge shell is a gasket. Sure it contains the primer and powder -- but that is why it must be a gasket and expand against the chamber wall. Not good in blowback actions. It is the reason you do not see many .22 magnum semi auto’s. At one time I really wanted to own a ruger 10-22 in 22 magnum. They came out, then were pulled back. My local gunsmith/store owner said something about a broken spring. I thought he was being professionally evasive. He seems to avoid negative conversation about any gun.

When kel tec came out with a semi auto 22 mag pistol (over and over?) I was paying attention when I could. I read the various ways they eventually delayed the blowback action so the case could release from chamber walls. (I bought a Henry lever action 22 mag).

Well got ahold of Paul in Tech at S-W, he told me don't worry about the form or receipt, just fill out the request form, so I did that now waiting on the return info to be e-mailed once they verify things. The ejector isn't loose, it is clean and free of burrs, rides smoothly on the bolt but no slack in the groove on the bolt. Anyway Paul said this is not uncommon.
I watched Jerry Miculek shoot his the other day on tv on impossible shots, his has a walther barrel and match trigger with a Jarrett forearm. Anyway he shot a less than 2 inch group off hand at 200 yards (less than 1 moa)....that's the other issue on this gun, it won't shoot into a 5 inch circle at 25 yards, 50 is rediculous, anyway Paul said they would take care of the issues.
Has anyone sent a firearm back to S-W and if so what's the waiting period and is it risky at the moment with the goons in washington.
