Extractor rod unscrew direction?

Yes….be sure to use empty cases or snap caps to support the ejector star. Larry from midway has some good youtube videos about how to do it.
The older extractor rods went from knurling to smooth without a transition, those are right hand threaded. If there is a transition cut behind the knurling then it is newer and is left hand threaded.

Thanks, I'll check it in the morning.
The thread direction started changing in the late 50' s. Some older guns would tie up when the cylinder rotation unscrewed the extractor rod.

Below are the two extractor rods that I'm looking to unscrew...
Neither appear to have the transition that you're referring to...
But I'm also pretty sure that they're from the late 60s / early 70s so would they be right or left threaded?
There are folks here that have far more experience than me, but I'd expect those to have right handed threads.
