I have a nasty habit of shifting my focus to the target after breaking a shot. Anyone have some good tips/drills to keep focus on the front sight?

DRYFIRE PRACTICE

First at home & not in the same room where there is any live ammo. Keep your dominant eye focused on the front sight thru the trigger "breaking". Follow thru & keep it as steady as possible.

Then begin your live fire session w/dry firing, again keeping watch on whether your front sight is staying steady. Shoot for a while, until you see your groups opening up. Take a break, then return to dry firing until the front sight steadies down.

After a while, you'll find you've established a habit of following thru the shot.

Good Luck, Hank M.

My wife isn't gonna be happy, but I'm gonna need to hit the range more. :-D

Yes, you're shifting to the target looking for your hit. You're probably also pulling the gun down to better see your hit. Gottta quit that, you need to be shifting your sight to your next target as soon as the shot breaks. Looking for your hit, particularly if you're shooting something like steel challenge or bowling pins just makes you SLOW.

Set up two targets side by side, keep alternating between them, move your eyes to the next target as soon as the shot breaks. The gun follows and you pick up the sights as they come into your line of sight. Don't look at/for your hits 'til you're done shooting that string.
