Need to get a new set. Mine are getting scratched. Curious about the amber (yellow) ones. I've been using clear. Any advantage to the yellow ones? I'll be shooting indoors for the next few months. Way too cold out to be outside. Old eyes and I wear contact lenses. Yellow or stick with clear.

I'm older and wear contact lenses and have always used eye protection
with clear lenses. A while back I decided that yellow lenses might be
better for shooting trap as they are said to improve contrast. I bought
a pair of yellow, tried them briefly, hated them and went back to clear.
I suggest you try on a pair before you spend your money. It's possible
you might like them for indoors. Shooting trap outdoors in the sun was
way too bright for me.

Yellow lens has always been used for extended night driving....
I can go 45 minutes before I need to turn on my head lights...
vs wearing my clear lens.

Rose pink , gray and brown can also be used for shooting outdoors for just a light tint.......different contrast with different colors. You have to pick which is best for you.

Lots of different shades for each color.............
My eye doctor had around 20 shades of yellow for me to choose from. They can be heavy glass or the light plastic lens with a scratch guard. Just depends on your insurance or cash on hand.

Yellow brightens...

Yellow brightens the image. They cut haze. They do improve contrast. Other colors help other conditions. Wearing yellow all the time might not be a good idea depending on the background and light level.

Polarizing lenses clear up the picture by removing the scattered light. These are pretty much good for anything except low light.
