It is my sad duty to report of all the S&W target guns that lived here over the years, not one of them carried a McGivern Bead front sight----damn it anyhow!!
It was clearly the best of any and all the various gold bead front sights, as its hemispherical shape would reflect light from anywhere within 180 degrees behind the shooter------a stroke of genius!

So it really is a "partridge" sight?
I find it interesting that the factory gold-filled the lettering and monogram.
