My brother-in-law passed away about a year ago and my sister brought his revolver to me because she doesn't want it in her house. It's an F.I.E. Titan Tiger in 38 Special. According to the box it was built in the US with US and German parts made in cooperation with Ariminius. I was surprised to find it to be all steel and has a fairly decent trigger. It's a 6 shot and about K-frame sized with a 2-inch barrel. Not something I would probably ever use so I cleaned it up good and put it in the safe. It's only been fired a few times, about a half box, and has a very light turn line on the cylinder. Does anyone know anything about these?

I believe the general thought is it no Smith, Colt or even an old Charter arms. Some I have seen shot well and make a OK nightstand.

F.I.E was an importer and didn't manufacture any of the firearms bearing their name. I didn't think that they actually assembled anything in the US. They went bankrupt and shut down in 1990.

I bought an FIE "Titan Tiger" from an old guy who was going into a nursing home around 1995. His family knew I was interested in guns, and sold me the Titan revolver, a Smith and Wesson 12 gauge shotgun and a Mossberg .22 rifle.

The old guy had some form of Dementia, and imagined people breaking into his house. One evening he thought about six guys had invaded his dining room, because he put a round each into every one of his dining room chairs with the Titan revolver. That's when his family put him in a home and sold me his guns....

I caiiried it with me canoeing for a number of years, found it to be reliable and faily accurate for a 2" barrel revolver. Wound up trading it for an SKS rifle when they were cheap and plentiful.

Probably one of the better "Cheap" revolvers.

I didn't know they actually manufactured anything here either. Learned something new today. Here's some pictures.

I don't know about the revolvers but some of the auto pistols FIE sold at least had to be assembled here with a US made frame. I have owned a couple of the 25 autos they sold as the FIE "Best". It was basically the same as an Astra Cub or Colt Junior and was too small to be imported legally.
I would suspect if they actually did any assembly work on the revolver here it was fitting a short barrel to it. Import regs from the 68 gun control act caused many importers to do some work in-house to provide what the customer wanted by altering an importable gun or assembling one here to be able to sell it legally.
