I think I'm in the phase of buying grips with the intention of later buying guns to match them. Many of these were from the fine collection of forum member weatherby, a true gentleman.

You can’t go wrong picking up factory grips from Paul! I’ve done it myself, and he is unquestionably a great guy to work with.

I had the same addiction a few years back and bought several stock sets online but in most cases I already had guns on which to use them. I since have sold a few sets but still have perhaps a dozen. Mine are mostly K/L-frame square butt checkered targets but I also have a few sets for square-butt N-frames. Prices on them have tended to vacillate up and down over the years. At one time, I balked at paying $150 for a nice set but subsequently paid a little more but a few years ago prices seemed to be going down a bit. I haven't checked lately. Bookending is important as is color and figure and combats bring more money than targets.

I used to buy them at gun shows because they were cheap and I couldn't afford the guns. Now I can't afford the grips anymore either. I collected a few drawers full when they were $5-20 a set, but times have changed...

This is a sure sign of some sort of an illness! Sadly I am not a doctor, so really can't help with your problem other than possibly adopting anything unwanted.
