Factory re-nickel finish

I agree completely. Although its nickel it sure didn't see what I did. I took the picture that showed the most. I saw one on gun broker that was selling for $1,295. All original and in the box. Turned, but not sure if ever fired. Did I get a steal at $450? Someone please tell me!

Nickel isn't a mirror perfect finish. I think if you sent it home to be replated you would find it looked very much the same when it came back to you. Unless nickel is flaking up from the steel I see little reason to have it stripped and redone. Some mothers, some soft cotton, and some TV time and you can turn that gun into pretty close to a mirror finish though if you want. I have a very poorly refinished Model of 1905 HE that has missing nickel in large area here and there and with some Mothers and some time it's hard to even see it.

You didn't really steal it, but you got a very, very good deal. Bordering on a steal, I guess.:D

Send it to S&W or Fords or one of the other well known refinishing places for a new $250 nickel job and I'll give you $350 for the gun.;)

In other words, DON'T DO IT!!

I've got some Ren wax on the way. Speaking of which, it might be in today haha.

I hear what KEN L and others are saying. I think your gun looks great the way it is, but it is your gun. If your plan is to have it re-nickeled and then shoot it, it will eventually end up looking like it does now. That being said, it's your gun, so...

I don't plan on it. I put some Ren Wax on both of them. They look good!

Haha. Yea I did. But it didn't look near this good. I did some serious cleaning with a tooth brush. I bet if the seller looked at it again, he wouldn't recognize it.

The Mother's polish did the work, but I'm not really sure what the Ren Wax did. I'm sure it did something, but I just can't notice it really well when the guns were already as shiny as they are now. I take really good care of all my guns and as much of a perfectionist I am, I believe that I will be looking for more revolvers to get into a good home. Although, I'll never be a great collector and have all the rare models, I do have a keen eye and have some models that most look for.

it may not be real shiny, but I'll bet it's still a shooter.....a good looking gun in my opinion...

Semper Fi.

Ya shoulda seen it before he polished it up!! :D
