While doing some on line research for some accurate data on COVID-19 I came upon this information worth sharing. I've attached a link to the article for bonafides but I've included what I though were a few interesting points below.

Facts about Covid-19 – Swiss Policy Research

According to data from the best-studied countries and regions, the lethality of Covid19 is on average about 0.2%, which is in the range of a severe influenza (flu) and about twenty times lower than originally assumed by the WHO.

Even in the global “hotspots”, the risk of death for the general population of school and working age is typically in the range of a daily car ride to work. The risk was initially overestimated because many people with only mild or no symptoms were not taken into account.

Up to 80% of all test-positive persons remain symptom-free. Even among 70-79 year olds, about 60% remain symptom-free.

Over 97% of all persons develop mild symptoms at most.

Up to 60% of all persons may already have a certain cellular background immunity to Covid19 due to contact with previous coronaviruses (i.e. common cold viruses).

The median or average age of the deceased in most countries (including Italy) is over 80 years and only about 1% of the deceased had no serious preconditions. The age and risk profile of deaths thus essentially corresponds to normal mortality.

Up to 50% of all additional deaths may have been caused not by Covid19, but by the effects of the lockdown, panic and fear. For example, the treatment of heart attacks and strokes decreased by up to 60% because many patients no longer dared to go to hospital.

Even in so-called “Covid19 deaths” it is often not clear whether they died from or with coronavirus (i.e. from underlying diseases) or if they were counted as “presumed cases” and not tested at all. However, official figures usually do not reflect this distinction.

Many media reports of young and healthy people dying from Covid19 turned out to be false: many of these young people either did not die from Covid19, they had already been seriously ill (e.g. from undiagnosed leukaemia), or they were in fact 109 instead of 9 years old. The claimed increase in Kawasaki disease in children also turned out to be false.

The fear of a shortage of ventilators was unjustified. According to lung specialists, the invasive ventilation (intubation) of Covid19 patients, which is partly done out of fear of spreading the virus, is in fact often counterproductive and damaging to the lungs.

Contrary to original assumptions, various studies have shown that there is no evidence of the virus spreading through aerosols (i.e. particles floating in the air) or through smear infections (e.g. on door handles, smartphones or at the hairdresser).

There is also no scientific evidence for the effectiveness of face masks in healthy or asymptomatic individuals. On the contrary, experts warn that such masks interfere with normal breathing and may become “germ carriers”. Leading doctors called them a “media hype” and “ridiculous”.

Several media were caught trying to dramatize the situation in hospitals, sometimes even with manipulative images and videos. In general, the unprofessional reporting of many media maximized fear and panic in the population.

Several medical experts described vaccines against coronaviruses as unnecessary or even dangerous. Indeed, the vaccine against the so-called swine flu of 2009, for example, led to sometimes severe neurological damage and lawsuits in the millions.

Great find and posting!

Thank you, Puller!

As facts now become more circulated, this entire situations makes me more frustrated...even angry.

Almost 40 MILLION Americans are unemployed and far more Americans and people all around the world will die from the consequences of ill conceived decisions than from this illness. The American economy is shot and will be so for a long time. Your children and grandchildren will be paying a debt caused by huge failures and poor (evil?) decisions for many years to come.

And how dare someone tell me I can never shake a friend’s hand or hug someone!:mad:

Factoring in abject stupidity on the part of decision makers and their cowardice in refusing to acknowledge their mistakes compounds the situation.

Still cannot get a dentist or eye doc appointment. Follow up visit/treatment following a prescribed course of therapy from my dermatologist is unavailable. But don’t worry about me...worry about those who cannot be timely diagnosed with truly serious and life threatening ailments and those still awaiting surgeries.

Two more weeks.

Be safe...be well.

Swiss Policy Research has a questionable reputation. Per this footnoted Wikipedia article, translated, by Google Translate, from the German, it does not disclose who its members are, or where its funding comes from. The article also gives examples of false claims it has made:

I don’t know anything about these people, but I question the reliability of research published anonymously and funded by unknown sources.

I would probably trust SWPRS more than Google. 😉

My exact thought every time I watch the main stream media, yet multitudes of Americans are accepting the hype.

Read it. Followed links cited in the report. It's red meat for the "just a flu" crowd masquerading as finished research.

Assertions are made definitively that in fact remain open-ended, debatable, unknown or unknowable. Sources cited vary in timeline and quality, and only to support the positions taken -- never acknowledging or investigating countering positions or commensurate evidence for them.

It's not how real research is done, but people already buying into the bias of the report will be satisfied.

Four (4) obituaries in today’s Washington Post...

...listed Covid-19 as the cause of death.

Three (3) of those who passed were 90 years old...the other was 94. (I read obituaries regularly and did so long before recent months.) The folks who I cited truly did live long and good lives per their obituaries.

No one is going to live forever...

Be safe...be well.

PS: I will happily sign up for 90 right now!

No offense to the OP but that's as far as I got. It's not that I don't concur with some of the replies.

Google and Wikipedia are well known to be far left. Don't use either of them so no need to try and interpret what they say.

CNN putting that little darling Greta Thunberg on a townhall expert panel last Thursday says it all for me.

No offense take. Where are you getting your COVID info from?

i suggest dr, john campbell on you tube,
he tries to stick to peer reviewed papers.

Well, first of all I don't search the Web with any real expectation of finding factual information about COVID-19. I listen to what info is being fed to us and then take in any counter arguments that are made.

Take Dr.Fauci for example...His background makes him an expert but right now he is a mere mouthpiece relying on what others are telling him. His sources of information have a record of overstating or exaggerating their findings for greater effect. That has been proven to be true.

You can also look at all the statements Dr.Fauci has made since the beginning. He probably could've saved face by just saying there's no real way to predict what will happen instead of moving the goal posts in hindsight to coincide with what is happening.

Overstating deaths related to COVID is a proven fact. This is from people that have no agenda and are the real sources on the frontline just trying to do their job.

Phrases like "In my opinion" or "Based on my research I think" are not in the vocabulary of those that demand we believe what they say. Yet all they offer us is conjecture voiced as fact and meaningless models. Predictions are not facts.

We know enough already to at least be suspicious of what we're told. All the facts will have to wait until this over.

no.
bad approach.
dr john campbell not only works from peer reviewed papers, he gives you the cites so you can go look at them.
this is the best info available.
you can't find better scientific info anywhere.

It's just now being reported that the CDC has reversed its guidance on disinfecting surfaces...turns out they were wrong, its not necessary. I wont post the source since it will generate ridicule, just look it up on your preferred source for news.

CDC revised guidance regarding surface transmission from “may be possible” to “does not spread easily”.

A distinction with a difference -- but a small one, not a reversal.

CDC now says coronavirus '''does not spread easily''' via contaminated surfaces | Fox News

When information increases, understanding changes.

This just reported: 600 doctors signed a letter sent to the President, warning of a mass casualty event. Here is a paragraph from the letter:

"The millions of casualties of a continued shutdown will be hiding in plain sight, but they will be called alcoholism, homelessness, suicide, heart attack, stroke, or kidney failure. In youths it will be called financial instability, unemployment, despair, drug addiction, unplanned pregnancies, poverty, and abuse."

I wont post the source since it will generate ridicule, just look it up on your preferred source for news.
