fair price for used .357 magnum range brass?

It would be helpful if you really which cases were once fired and which were more than once fired. Obviously known once fired cases are more valuable than "I don't know how many times these were fired cases". If new Starline brass is 17 cents each and available I don't know why anyone would pay more than half that for unknown fired brass.

How many times do you reload your brass?

Back when I would get about 3-4 reloads out of a brass case and the same out of a AA or RXP shotgun hull. Others would claim they were getting 15-20 loads but I always thought that was a bit exaggerated.

I am not sure how many times that I reload a case. Twenty times would not be far off, as I do not load max loads. Just enough to punch holes in paper. The hotter the load the shorter the case life. I never throw a case away until it shows signs of cracking.

I load most handgun cases many times. I have some 45 auto that the headstamp is hard to see. so many times(20) I load 357 mag only 8-9 times...even though I don't load full mag loads very often. I have some 38 brass that is late 40s in boxes.. but they may only have been loaded 4-5 times...because I have so many. Rifle no where near as many as pistol. Shotshell? I usually loaded as many times as I could esp after they came out with the original AAs. usually 12 or a bit more...less if they cracked. We mostly shot semi autos and they had to function. . we had a business shooting pigeons and 1/2 the new AAs we shot were sold to help the bottom line. We sold thousands... I loaded 1000s. After 1966 I was buying ammo and reloading supplies wholesale so we could afford more new ammo. I worked a bit at Remington Farms and I was able to get quite a few 1000 RXP 20 ga shells. I reloaded them for skeet and some bird/pigeon shooting to destruction. I could quite often get 15 loads...the only part that was still yellow was near the base...mostly shot in O/Us. Another good 12 ga shotshell case was Federal Gold Medals. I once bought near 30,000 from National Skeet Asso. for about a penny each. The rifle loads I was using for many calibers were all made from 30-06/308 brass I got off Aberdeen proving ground. I made 22-250 to 35 Whelen and all kinds of stuff between 'em. I had more time than money most of the time. All of that reloading and pigeon shooting was a lot of work...not fun

.38 special is a pretty low pressure round. they can be good for many loadings until the case cracks. .357 is a different story because of the much higher pressure. If they have been loaded at max by someone and fired a few times, I would rather not have those cases.

To each, their own..........
