SPEAKING OF DIY,FOR ONCE...

A it DID NOT happen in FL story. A Dr performed a sex change surgery on himself! This one is not recent. JUST GUESSING that insurance did not cover it. :D

I was three nights in the hospital on the first hip (right) and two on the second (left). I was in my 40's and it was planned rather than in response to a fall or other accident. I was stapled and sewn and no glue at all. That was in '99 and 2000 for reference. Crutches for six weeks and a walker for a month both times.

To soon. Last year my brother had knee replacement.
Sent home the same day, that night he had a blood clot
that went to the brain, major stroke. He passed 3 days later.

do it yourself You Tube videos....that's a hoot. LOL
I really don't understand this fast out the door for hip replacement because so many people that had broken their hip ended up in a nursing home and died a few months later. This over weight older woman is walking out the hospital that soon seems strange. Kudos for her though.

That's going back in time. I'm 77 and I can remember when doctors came to the house. :D Larry
I remember that to, they always came around lunch or dinner time. [emoji1]

My MIL is 20 years older, and about the same physically as your wife's friend. Last year she replaced her hip in an evening surgery, and was released the next day. Been doing great with it.

They don't keep you in the hospital very long these days unless its serious.
