Favorite chocolate?

I been trying different chocolate from other countries. From Denmark, Norway, Sweden, USA

The best milk chocolate I found so far is the,

MARABOU MJOLK CHOKLAD from Sweden. It’s a very creamy milk chocolate. Just let it melt in your mouth. It’s too creamy to eat it quickly and not savor the gourmet quality. You can mail order it but be aware of the shipping and the size of the candy bar. eBay and Amazon has it.

So what’s your favorite chocolate.?
 
Anything dark chocolate by: Dove. To me itv tasted exactly like the high-priced and high-falootin Godiva chocolates. Soooo, Dove is the better bang for the better buck. Now if I were buying for a lady? then id buy her the more expensive stuff.
 
We have bridgewater chocolates locally it’s good quality wise but very expensive. Denmark chocolate is ok but not as creamy as the Swedish chocolates. Godiva and Dove are too bad.
 
Like many things mentioned around here as "best", "better", or etc. the answer one offers is often merely the preference of the one offering the answer. In other words, taste, etc. is a matter of taste. I recognize that there are exceptions, as is typical.

BigBill likes his chocolate creamy; I do not. I don't know how to describe my preference(or even who makes the stuff), but it's sort of dry and crumbly(poor description). I had some when I was visiting SE Pennsylvania, and liked it so much that I would have eaten the whole batch had I not had to leave right away.

I like all chocolate.

Bridgewater chocolates has chocolate covered cookies that are killer. Trust me one box won’t last. I gave a carton of bridgewater chocolates to the staff in the radiology treatment center to say thanks.

It’s really a matter of preference, not necessarily inherent quality, although I will go out on a limb and say that, while I love this country, chocolate is one of those things that’s generally made in better quality elsewhere, particularly in Central Europe.

There are some great creamy chocolates like Lindt and Milka, but I don’t do creamy; I like substantial stuff. So my favorite is Ritter Sport from Germany, especially the whole-nut varieties, white, milk, and dark. There are a gazillion other different flavors. They are ridiculously overpriced here, though, three bucks or more sometimes; in Germany you can get them sometimes for 69 cents on sale.

Lindt 85%, purportedly the only one of their line that is not made using the Dutch alkali process.....
 
I am an opportunist when it comes to chocolate. There are not many that I will turn down.
I was raised on Hershey's. A measurable percentage of the family tree worked at the factory. Hershey's always was 'for the masses', and never really claimed to be premium. They have also compromised the original formulae and processes. It's not bad, but also not what it was when Milton S. was around. Some of their better stuff just isn't available any longer.
So, that said, my palate isn't very discriminating. I do enjoy Ghirardelli, Dove, and believe it or not, I'm sitting here attacking a bag of Nestle Toll House Morsels as I write this. Semi-sweet baking chocolate of decent quality is high on my list....
 
I'm an equal opportunity chocolate eater. It's all high on my list. Please find a list of my LEAST favorite chocolates below....
 
The notion that good quality chocolate is not made here is absolutely untrue. The problem is like quality tools, American chocolate is not cheap and not likely to be available at middle income chain stores or the typical big box grocery store. If you go to a Whole Foods or a gourmet grocery store in a bigger city, you will see an entire aisle of expensive American chocolate, and addicts like me happy to pay the price.

My favorites are Taza Stone Ground Almond and Sea Salt Dark Chocolate, made in Medford, Massachusetts, and Salazon Dark Chocolate with Sea Salt and Honey, from Maryland. One bite and you will never be happy with anything from the big national chocolate companies again.
